This new series "The Golden Age of Showa" focuses on the rarest of Japanese distilleries, Karuizawa. Located at the foot of Mount Asama, northwest of Tokyo, the distillery has been the source of many legends since its closure in 2000. The whole series includes whiskies from single casks distilled between 1971 and 1974. This version breech from cask '673, distilled in 1974 and aged in Sherry Butt before bottling in 2020 at 63.8% natural strength. 178 bottles only. Taiwan's Spirits Shop Selection has quickly established an international reputation thanks to the meticulous selections made by Eric Huang, one of Asia's leading whisky experts and an avid collector.
