This is a whiskey for collectors’ and connoisseurs. Rare indeed is it to find barrel strength releases above 130 proof; rarer yet, indeed nowhere available, is a barrel strength aged rye of the highest rated rye whiskey around.1 Amazingly, The Boss Hog, as connoted in its name, remains savory and palatable even at its awesome full barrel strength.
NOSE
A balanced creamy vanilla against a fruity sweetness, thickly seasoned with sarsaparilla, tinged with a little musty wood.
PALATE
An instant rush of honey with touches of cinnamon and cloves offering sultry hits of vanilla and oak.
FINISH
Subtle heat of red pepper and cinnamon with the smooth feel of dark chocolate.
